Congratulations Cymbio Team!

The number of places a brand can sell online has exploded. First it was your own website, then Amazon, then Walmart, Target, Zalando, and dozens of other marketplaces, plus social commerce on Instagram and TikTok. Now there's a new surface: AI shopping assistants that browse and buy on behalf of users.

This proliferation of platforms has brought with it significant fragmentation. Each channel has its own data formats, inventory requirements, and order flows, meaning that most brands face two unsatisfactory options: either limit their distribution or drown trying to manage them all.

Cymbio built the abstraction layer: their platform connects brands to any sales channel through a single integration. Product data, inventory updates, orders, and billing all flow automatically, allowing a brand to plug in once and sell everywhere.

Roy Avidor, Mor Lavi, and Gilad Zirkel founded Cymbio in Tel Aviv in 2015, and spent the decade since building infrastructure designed to be able to seamlessly add new sales channels as they emerge. The company grew to serve over 400 brands, including New Balance, Steve Madden, and Authentic Brands Group. With a team of roughly 80 specialists in commerce infrastructure, Cymbio built an approach designed for whatever came next.

That positioning proved prescient. When AI shopping agents started gaining traction, Cymbio was already equipped to make brands discoverable for this new way of shopping.

At Corner, we were proud to lead Cymbio's Series B. Cymbio fit a pattern we look for: a founding team with deep domain expertise, building connective infrastructure that would work across whatever the next wave of commerce looked like.

Joining PayPal

PayPal's acquisition of Cymbio brings the team into one of the world's largest commerce platforms. Cymbio's technology will power Store Sync, PayPal's service that makes merchants discoverable within AI shopping channels.

For the Cymbio team, joining PayPal means their work will reach millions of merchants and billions of transactions, integrated into commerce infrastructure at a scale few startups ever achieve.

Congratulations to Roy, Mor, Gilad, and the entire Cymbio team on an extraordinary outcome. The Corner team is proud to celebrate your well-deserved achievement!
